Christian Wood
Youth Minister
Christian Wood led the youth group at Grace Church in Whitestone, New York before joining Church of the Redeemer as Youth Minister in January of 2009. He has served on the youth ministry staff at St. Michael’s Conference since 2002, and has taught classes in Christian relationships, as well as a class in King David. Christian looks forward to incorporating his multi-media background, annual retreats and mission trips into Redeemer’s youth ministry.
Christian and his wife, Kate Wood, reside in the Sarasota area. Kate is the granddaughter of former Redeemer rector Fr. Tom Fitzgerald; and before relocating to Sarasota, she was purchasing agent for the New York Mets.
Christian has enjoyed great success as a film editor, videographer and award-winning producer in New York City prior. His film, “The Other Side of Hip Hop: The Sixth Element,” won Best Documentary at the Big Apple Film Festival in 2007. A native of Queens, New York, Wood graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan in 2003.
