The Rev. George W. Busler
The Rev. George W. Busler, S.T.M., D.D., celebrates the Thursday 10 am Eucharist during the winter season at Redeemer. Father Busler was the Rector of Saint Mark's Church in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, New York, from 1966 to 1999. He was also a Professor of Moral Theology at Mercer Seminary from 1969 to 1999; the founder and Executive Director of The Family Counseling Service of the Hamptons; and served on the Executive Committee of The Episcopal Hospital Corporation.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Father Busler attended the Philadelphia Divinity School of the Episcopal Church and participated in a joint program at Union Theological Seminary and Columbia Law School. He met his wife, Joy, who is active with Redeemer’s Needlepoint Guild, at Ursinus College. The Buslers spend nine months of the year in Sarasota, where they have a home in the Laurel Oak Country Club; they return to Long Island for the summer season.
