The Rev. Richard B. Lampert
Assistant Priest & Hispanic Missioner

The Rev. Richard B. Lampert has been with the Church of the Redeemer since June 2006. He initially served the Redeemer parish as the Hispanic Missioner for two years, before becoming Assistant Priest. Fr. Lampert particularly enjoys his work with the adult small group ministries, preaching, working with children in the LOGOS and Vacation Bible School programs, as well as making his pastoral visitations.
Fr. Lampert was ordained as a priest in June 1971 and has now served for over four decades in a variety of positions including Vicar, Rector and on two diocesan staffs, in diverse locales such as in Boston, Massachusetts, Monterrey, Mexico; St. Paul, Minnesota; Union City, New Jersey. Most recently, he was the Rector at the Good Shepherd Church in Venice, Florida for nearly six years, followed by a brief period of retirement before accepting his calling at Redeemer.
Over forty years of ministry, Fr. Lampert, with his wife Molly and family, has lived and worked for twenty of those years in bilingual, multi-cultural communities. Fr. Lampert likes to say he "has retired twice ... and flunked retirement both times, but still going!"
Fr. Lampert graduated cum laude from Lawrence College in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1964; earned an M.S.W. from the Boston College of School of Social Work in 1969 and graduated with his B.D. in 1970 from The Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass. In June 2000, Fr. Lampert graduated from The Virginia Theological Seminary with his Doctor of Ministry degree.
Molly and Dick Lampert reside in Sarasota and have three grown children: two sons and a daughter, and six grandchildren.
