Vacation Bible School

VBS 2015 tie dye

Tie-Dye? Must be VBS Celebration Sunday!!

The Church of the Redeemer is now accepting registrations for its 15-19 August 2016 Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme is “Windows to Jesus” and children will learn about Jesus’ birth through his boyhood, as told in the Redeemer’s glorious stained glass windows.

Each day, children will also learn about and respond to pressing community issues, such as aging, homelessness, hunger, and abandonment.  Throughout the week, children will make gifts for older citizens at the Senior Friendship Center, and prepare gifts for the Salvation Army’s FAITH program, as well as items to benefit Mothers Helping Mothers and  All Children’s Hospital,  just to name a few. Additionally, they will pack an entire weekend’s worth of food into 100 individual backpacks to be distributed to at-risk students from Alta Vista Elementary during their first week back at school. Other fun activities include music, art, water play, and tie-dye.

Vacation Bible School runs from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday, 15-19 August, for children entering grades K-5. Registration is $25 for the first child in a family, and $10 for each additional child in a family.  Partial scholarships are available.
