Liturgical Ministry
Lay people provide crucial support to the Church of the Redeemer clergy by serving in a variety of liturgical functions. If you are interested in serving in any capacity, we encourage you to contact a member of the clergy to learn how you might help.
Acolytes are young people who assist as crucifers, servers, banner bearers, torch bearers, and thurifers for celebrations of the Eucharist and Evensong.
The Altar Guild is a large group of dedicated persons who prepare the altars and the church for all Sunday and weekday Eucharists.
Members of the Choirs of the Church of the Redeemer – including boys and girls and men and women of all ages – add immensely to the rich expression of our parish’s liturgical life by performing anthems expressive of the great diversity found in Christian choral literature.
Daily Office Officiants are the men and women who lead morning and evening prayer in the Church.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Subdeacons are men and women who wear vestments, read lessons, and administer the chalice at the 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 am Sunday Eucharists.
Lectors and Intercessors are men and women who read the Old Testament lesson and lead "The Prayers of the People" at our 9:00 and 11:00 am Sunday Eucharists.
Ushers welcome worshippers on Sundays and at other special services.
