Pastoral Care

About Pastoral Care

Each and every member of the parish can receive pastoral care.
The parish offers specific programs for many pastoral care needs, including: weddings, baptisms, funerals, etc.

Prayer

We believe in the power of prayer. An emergency prayer chain is available. All requests are confidential.

Counseling

The Rector and the clergy are available for premarital, marriage, and individual counseling. The parish has partnered with Samaritan Counseling Services for onsite counseling, which takes places in the privacy of Redeemer’s Halton Chapel. Appointments may be made by calling 941.926.2959.  We also can recommend other licensed, professional counselors as well.

Christian Matrimony

The Church of the Redeemer offers a special and beautiful setting for the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Holy Matrimony is celebrated in the Church for communicant members of the parish who are regular in attendance and support of the Church. A ninety-day notice is required. Advent and Lent are not appropriate for weddings.

Hospital Visits

Members of Redeemer clergy make visits Monday through Friday to parishioners who are locally hospitalized.

Homebound

Members of Redeemer clergy and Lay Eucharistic Visitors make monthly visits to parishioners who are homebound, or who, either through temporary illness or physical difficulty, are unable to attend services at the church.

Advanced Funeral Planning

In the first days following a loved one’s death, the family makes an average of 200 decisions. During such an emotional, stressful and demanding time, plans that have been made earlier lighten the load after death. Redeemer clergy are available to help you make arrangements for funeral & burial services.
