Youth and Children’s Choirs

The Church of the Redeemer has three choral opportunities for young people. Through each group, we teach liturgy skills as well as music.

Canterbury Choir is for young people ages 11 through high school. This choir prepares music in the Anglican tradition for the 9 am liturgy on Sundays and occasionally for the 11 am liturgy and Evensong as well. Membership is based on an audition with the Organist-Choirmaster. The choir rehearses on Thursday afternoons each week from 5 – 6:30 pm. This is part of the Royal School of Church Music training program.

Westminster Choir is for girls and boys, grades 2-5. The choir rehearses during LOGOS on Wednesdays from 5-5:45 pm and sings at the 9 am liturgy on Sundays. This is part of the Royal School of Church Music training program.

Cherubim Choir, our music program for children kindergarten through first grade, meets during LOGOS on Wednesday afternoons from 5-5:45 pm. Participating in Cherubim Choir opens the window of musical opportunity for young children and exposes them to new sounds, rhythms, and tunes. Cherubim Choir is not performance oriented; they offer their gifts once a year at the 3:00 pm Christmas Eve service.

If your child would like to be in one of these groups, contact our Organist-Choirmaster, Ann Stephenson-Moe
