Service Descriptions
Sunday
Each Sunday we offer four worship services, all conducted according to the Book of Common Prayer (1979), but each with its own distinctive character.
7:30 am Holy Eucharist, Rite I (said)
A traditional Mass without music, for our early risers! Worship concludes around 8:15. Coffee and pastries are served in Gillespie Hall afterwards. Nursery care is not available during this service.
9:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II (choral)
This is our family service (which simply means that it's where you'll find most of the children!), featuring the best in Anglican liturgy and music. After the reading of the Gospel, children -- Kindergarten through Grade 5 -- process to "Children's Chapel" for a children's sermon and liturgy. (They return during the anthem.) Church school classes are held during the school year. After receiving communion, church school students and teachers go to their classes until 10:45.
At the conclusion of the service (generally about 10:15), refreshments are served in Gillespie Hall, where our Adult Forum is also held on most Sunday mornings.
11:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite I (choral)
A traditional service -- similar to the 7:30, but with music. It concludes shortly after noon, and refreshments follow in Gillespie Hall. During certain parts of the year, this service begins with Morning Prayer on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
1:00 pm Santa Eucaristía: Rito Dos (Mass in Spanish, Rite II)
Ofrecemos todos los domingos la Misa en español a las 1 de la tarde.
(We offer the Mass in Spanish every Sunday at 1:00 pm.)
Saturday
5:30 pm Holy Eucharist, Rite II (Contemporary)
Every Saturday, the Church of the Redeemer offers a unique worship service that combines our traditional Holy Eucharist (Rite II) with contemporary praise music. Usually once a month, a potluck supper follows this Saturday night service and is held in the adjoining Gillespie Hall.
Sacramental Rites
The sacramental rites of Reconciliation (or Penance) and Holy Unction (or Anointing) are also offered weekly, as well as by appointment.
Holy Unction: Friday and Saturday, 10 am in the chapel
Reconciliation: Saturday, 11 am in the chapel
