Each week will focus on a particular period beginning with The Primitive Church and the Roman Empire, with discussion of the Scriptures and early heresies, the Latin and Greek fathers, Nicea, the Papacy, and influential personages of the period. The course includes a class on Charlemagne and the Christianizing of western Europe and how that laid foundations for modern Europe, as well as a presentation on the Renaissance of the 12th century and its influence on the church. Taught by the Rev. Richard C. Marsden
Come and eavesdrop on the sage counsel given by an experienced and tried church leader to his young apprentice. Listen in as the apostle Paul gives direction and encouragement to a young pastor of a local church who felt insecure and ill-prepared for the burden of leadership that was being laid upon him by his mentor. Listen in on his guidance to Timothy in issues of prayer, gender roles in worship, relations between church and state, and evangelism. Hear him challenge Timothy to stand for the truth of sound doctrine against the false teaching of the time. Join us as we look at Paul’s first letter to Timothy and discover its implications for us today. All you need to bring is your Bible and something to write with.
