Episcopal Youth Community “EYC”
Redeemer’s youth ministry seeks to grow a community of young Christians and for that community to be an example in the world of how to treat others.
In an increasingly secular world, a young person may be tempted to view being a Christian as just a part of their heritage.
Youth ministry encourages our kids to see our shared faith as the foundation for our behavior, the instructions on how to love God and each other.
Through shared meals, simple lessons, and fun games we reaffirm that being a Christian in today’s world matters, perhaps now more than ever. Our faith is core to our identity and is strengthened by bonds of joy and friendship.
There are several age-appropriate youth groups that meet throughout the week at various locations. Check out our events page and the Sunday announcements for the latest details (like events and Sunday announcements). A few things always happening are below:
We meet on Sunday mornings (10:00-10:40 am; Grades 6-12)
EYC YOUTH GROUPS:
Food, fellowship, formation, and discussion.
JUNIOR EYC: Grades 6th to 8th
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 7:30 PM, in Gillespie Hall. It’s time to have some dinner, have some fun, and talk about God.
SENIOR EYC: Grades 9th to 12th
Join us Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM, in Gillespie Hall. We’ll cover a range of topics, especially geared towards being a young Jesus-follower!
FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Middle and High School
Boys’ and Girls’ Groups – Wake up early and read the Bible together and finish out the week right! 6:15-7:00 AM. Various locations. Contact Jackie Overton for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASS: Grade 7
Meets Wednesday afternoons through the academic year from 5:30-6:30 pm, in preparation for Confirmation in May. Contact Fr. David Svihel, email@example.com.
EYC MINISTRY IN THE COMMUNITY:
Getting outside our walls: growing and serving.
FAITH FORMATION EVENTS:
Various events in Sarasota (and beyond) throughout the year to encourage strong relationships with each other and with Christ. We especially look forward to St. Michael’s Conference in August!
YOUTH MISSIONS TRIPS:
Taking Christ’s light into the world! Our Middle and High School youth participate in the Church’s mission domestically and abroad. Ask about our trips to the Dominican Republic and prepare for amazing testimony!
FAMILIES OF REDEEMER:
Families of Redeemer is intended to build community, have fun, and foster stronger families. The group hosts events throughout the year. Check out upcoming events here (link to events) and watch the Sunday announcements for the latest.
