A Message from the Rector
Dear Redeemer Family,
I am delighted to share good news with you. The Rev. Andrew Yow will be joining the Redeemer clergy team in late May.
Andrew will serve as Redeemer’s Curate, which is the customary title and role for newly ordained priests. He will share in all areas of priestly life among us, but he will focus on the liturgical life of the parish. Currently, he serves as Chapel Secretary at Nashotah House, coordinating the daily worship life of that wonderful seminary, and he grew up a choirboy at St. Thomas Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. His knowledge of and appreciation for the Anglican tradition of worship and piety is sound and quite remarkable indeed. More important, however, is his love for Jesus and His Church.
Join me in giving thanks for this wonderful development and for this season of growth. Better still, drop Andrew a line, and let him know you’re excited, too. (Email him at AYow@RedeemerSarasota.org.)
Your servant,
The Rev. Charleston D. Wilson
Rector, Church of the Redeemer
P.S. Andrew is recently married to Kate, who is wonderful, and his grandparents (Sandy and David) and parents (LeAnn and Scott) are already parishioners at Redeemer! (My own mother was a parishioner here, so I know what that’s like. I promised Andrew that his family would be able to provide plenty of feedback on his ministry as he settles in!)
A Message from Deacon Andrew Yow
Dear Redeemer Family,
What a joy it will be to join you as your Curate!
Redeemer is a special place, blessed with faithful priests and lay leaders, ardent mission, reverent liturgy, and a zeal for the hard work of discipleship: making new Christians and making all Christians new. It will be a great privilege to share in the responsibilities of priestly ministry, particularly in the sphere of liturgy.
As I grew in my relationship with Christ, the liturgical life of the Church was my “first love.” The worship of Almighty God in spirit and truth, particularly in the catholic tradition as we have inherited it in this place, is a great privilege and responsibility, empowered by the Holy Spirit and countless volunteers at Redeemer’s altars. Through this task, may we continue to fall in love with Jesus over and over again, offering laudable service to God the Father through Him.
I will continue to keep you in my prayers, and I hope you will keep Kate and me in yours as we wrap up my studies at Nashotah House this spring and prepare to join you this summer!
Faithfully, I am your servant,
Deacon Andrew Yow
